Thank you.

I want to make some dog agility jumps but how can I make them? I have PVC pipe for the bar but how can I get it to stand up like a jump? How can I make the other equipment?

Ok, i have a dog blah blah blah, straight to the point!
I am in a Dog Obedience class in 4-H.
We are training for Agility. I have taught my dog “jump” with a ladder.
So, how can I make other props that represent the ones used in agility competitions
she’s three

SHELTIELUVER asked:

I’m getting ready to enter my dog in UKC AG1. I would like to start training her for weaving in AG2 as well as if we decide to do AKC. I’ve been practicing at the agility club with a set of 6 poles which I bend down and have her go thru the middle. For some reason, the instructors don’t use those guide wires but don’t those work well in weave pole training? What has been your best experience in training a dog to be proficient in the weave poles? This is my first experience with agility. I have a 11 month old Sheltie who according to the instructors is a “natural”. All mistakes made are because of me! She goes thru the poles slowly right now. She goes thru the course fast but not nearly as fast as she can. Is this because I need to work on “distance”? Is she going slower because of me most likely? I mean, I can run preety fast but no where near as fast as she can! So my 2 questions are about the poles and speed. Will she get faster as I improve?

Hi,
I own a 16 month old Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier and I am a kid who’s really interested in agility. We have started agility classes and know the A-Frame, Teeter, Table, Dog Walk, Chute, Tunnel, Jumps, Tire, and are starting off leash and weave poles.

I would really like to compete in trials one day…. any suggestions for training, starting off competing, tips, tricks, etc?

All comments appreciated!

Hello, I know, I know, I’m pretty much asking for a perfect dog but here’s the thing. My grandpa is our land lord, and he’s reeeaally hesitant about us having a dog, so I need a small dog that can do agility competitions, that has short hair, VERY little shedding, good with cats and birds and children. I would love a mixed breed, but I need to know what typed of breeds to look into it.
