I know that they should be atleast a year because of the dangers of a dog injuring itself jumping while its bones are still developing. However, I was wondering what the rules are about exactly how old it must be to enter?

I have a 10 month old Sheltie. We’ve taken about 10 classes and she is doing wonderful except for one thing, she’s afraid of the see-saw. She’ll get on it and walk maybe a couple of steps and then just freezes. I’ve tried coaxing her with praise and putting treats every few inches to no avail! If I go to the other side and put it down for her, she will finish it but she won’t use her own weight to get it down. I’m getting frustrated! We had problems with the dog walk for a while but after she discovered she can do it, she’s a pro now! Does it just take some dogs a while to be confident about some of the obstacles? Like, some dogs **** the chute or if the tunnel is turned but she loves them! Should I try making a see-saw to practice with at home, anybody know how to make one? Oh, she isn’t afraid of the see-saw noise but the movement. Help!!!

My son who is 15 wanted to enter our dog (a goldendoodle) in agility competitions. Although our dog hasnt started training yet, i wanted to make sure that i could find a competition near richmond before putting all of his time into this.
P.s. are there any junior leagues?
