dog agility
Lissie asked:

I have a dog who is starting in agility (2 year old standard rat terrier). Right now I have a 4 foot tunnel (she can’t get enough of this!), 6 weave poles (which are a little hard, but she’s getting the concept), a pause box (working on that as she can’t stay still), and a high jump (she jumps triple what is required of her). I want to know what I can work on and ideas for competing.

1. What obstacles should I work with her next on?

2. Where can I get cheap equipment or websites on how to make my own?

3. How do I get started, when can she start, and what do I need to know to get started in competions?

4. On our progress we’ve made, is that good for one month in training?

Answer how many of them you want, I just want info

thanks!

My dog, Lily, is a 3 year old (May 15th) rat terrier. She is 14″ at shoulder and ways 15 pounds. I want to know if she is good for agility. The stuff we do now (tunnels, jumps, and poles), she has fun with, but all the trainers says that breed is not good for agility and I’m wasting my time.

1. Do you think she is good for agility?
2. What are dogs favorite things in it?
3. How can I train her without going to classes?

Thank you so much!
